For whatever reason, this power tool guy decided that last Friday was as good as any other day to still down and learn how to cut dovetails. I grabbed a spare board and ripped it to 6" and then cut it in half. I then grabbed a copy of fine woodworkings book of joinery. In it Christian Becksvoort described how to cut the joint. I have to say it made sense. Though I lack a vice, marking gauge or appropriate saw I decided to try. That was at @ 9:30AM. By 3:30PM, I'd cut two joints. They fit together and are 90* but they are anything but pretty. 2 was easier than 1 by far and I expect 3 to be easier than 2. Anyway, I can only improve with practice. And it sure is calming to work with hand tools...
